Trauma Telemedicine

Doctors pushing patient on trolley (blurred motion)The Center for Distance Health hosts trauma telemedicine programs that serve Arkansas residents in unique ways:

Burn Consultation Telemedicine Program

This program provides a telemedicine consult by a burn surgeon 24/7 to better coordinate care for patients after a burn injury with access to immediate treatment and a plan of care that may include emergency transfer or follow up in a burn clinic.

Hand Trauma Telemedicine Program

This program enables patients and their physicians in hospitals throughout Arkansas to consult in real time with hand trauma surgeons and specialists via a high-definition broadband video connection.

Trauma Image Repository (TIR)

Hospitals within the Arkansas Trauma System can transfer radiologic images to a central Trauma Image Repository (TIR) for patients who are being transferred to a higher level of care.

 Arkansas Trauma Rehabilitation Program (ATRP)

The Arkansas Trauma Rehabilitation Program (ATRP) works to increase access to comprehensive, cutting-edge rehabilitation care and facilitate community reintegration for Arkansans who have sustained traumatic injuries. This is done through educational and resource development initiatives and providing access to the Triumph Call Center, a 24/7 on-the-spot nurse and physician consultation for patient, family and provider support.
